Meet the Principal
Dear Cherry Valley Families,
Welcome, Cheetahs to the 2026–27 school year! I am excited to welcome you and your family to another wonderful year at Cherry Valley Elementary.
One of the things I value most about Cherry Valley is the strong sense of community that exists among our students, staff, and families. We are fortunate to have an incredibly dedicated staff, supportive families, and students who make Cherry Valley a wonderful place to learn and grow. Our goal is for every student to feel known, supported, and valued while also being challenged to grow academically and socially.
Each year, our School Improvement Plan (SIP) helps guide our work and ensures that we remain focused on the areas that will have the greatest impact on our students. For the 2026–27 school year, we will focus on three primary goals:
Goal #1: Continue to Develop and Strengthen Our Professional Learning Community (PLC) Processes
We will continue to strengthen the way our teachers collaborate through Professional Learning Communities. Our teams will use student data, common assessments, and shared instructional practices to identify student needs, provide effective interventions, and monitor progress. This collaborative work allows us to respond more intentionally when students need additional support or greater challenge.
Goal #2: Close the Achievement Opportunity Gap
We want every student to demonstrate meaningful growth in reading and math. We will continue to provide targeted instruction and interventions for students performing below grade-level expectations while closely monitoring their progress and adjusting support as needed.
Goal #3: Strengthen Supportive Learning Environments
We want Cherry Valley to be a place where students enjoy coming to school and feel safe, connected, and supported. This year, we will continue to focus on building positive relationships, increasing opportunities for student voice and belonging, and strengthening schoolwide systems that support the social-emotional needs of our students.
While these goals are part of our formal School Improvement Plan, they ultimately represent what we want for every Cherry Valley student: strong instruction, continued academic growth, and a school experience where they feel connected and cared for.
